This expansion contains 4 mini-expansions, including several previously released as promotional products: The Count of Carcassonne, The River II and King & Robberknight. The fourth mini-expansion is called Cult Places & Heretics.

The expansions each add a new dimension to the basic game:

- In The Count of Carcassonne, players can place serfs in a certain part of the city in "reserve" and deploy them at the last minute during a count.

- In Carcassonne: River II, players build a river at the beginning of the game, branching out along the way. This offers an extra challenge when laying land tiles.

- In Carcassonne: King & Robberknight, players receive a reward for building the largest city or the longest road. The more cities and roads are completed, the more points this can earn.

- In Carcassonne: Cult Sites & Heretics, heretics on cult sites built next to monasteries challenge the monk next to them. The first to complete his cult site or monastery gets the points, the other gets nothing.

This expansion makes the already exciting gameplay even more varied.
